The "In" Crowd

Friends, as we look at the world around us, we see churches (I use this term lightly) that are doing everything they can to fit in and be no different from the world.  My heart aches for those who are truly seeking Jesus only to be fed lies and at best self-help fluff from those places.  The writer of Hebrews explains to us in chapter four verse twelve:

"For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart."

We can not water down and modify what God's Word tells us to "catch up" to society.  Sodom and Gomorrah were filled with people who had no value of what God desired for their lives.  They decided that their ways were perfectly fine.  They decided to overlook sin as no longer being sin.  They were perfectly fine living "their truth" instead of following the commands of God.

This morning I saw a video of a church whose "pastor" was dressed in football gear and decided to use a Bible as a football and kick it across the stage.  It was more important for that church to have a "fun" skit leading up to whatever they were going to teach that they kicked the Word of God.  Mankind, and especially in America, has such a low value of the Bible as a whole.  Because we know so much "more" now and as a society we are so much "more advanced," even within the church, you see people looking to anything BUT the God Breathed Holy Bible as a source of truth.  Friends, if you have your truth and I have mine, can you not see that it shows there is no truth?

I pray for those desiring to repent and follow the guidance God gives to His creation to get in His Word.  Read the Bible.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to help you understand what you are reading.  Stop believing the lies and stop giving in to the world around you.  Follow the desire of your Creator.  Follow the commands of your heavenly Father.  If you need or want help, seek out a God fearing church.  They are the ones not kicking God's Word off of the stage.
